Greetings from Grantham! At the time of this writing, the leaves are all down, it is a cool 20 degrees outside and I’m noticing ice starting to skim over some of the local ponds. I’ve even seen the occasional snowflake fall from the sky over the past couple of weeks. The riding season is approaching. Time to join a club and get those sleds registered!

BMSD has been busy this fall with the traditional pre-season work. The wind storm that went through New Hampshire back in October certainly made a mess of the trails. I want to thank all of the volunteers who have gone out to help clear the downed trees and those who put a fresh coat of paint on our north hut a few weeks back. The Tucker and two Skandics will soon be going through their pre-season maintenance and our trail signs will start to pop up around town.

We are venturing into some new territory this year in hosting our first sled dog race on our trail network this winter. The race is being sponsored by North Country Mushers and is scheduled for Sunday February 18. Keep and eye on our website and Facebook page for additional details as they become available.

Our monthly club meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at the Grantham Town Hall starting at 6:30. All are welcome to attend, hear what is going on and meet other members who love the sport and being out on our trail network. Hope to see you soon and we all look forward to a great riding season.

Think Snow!
